Based on experience, have you ever misunderstood someone’s gestures (nonverbal communication) because of a cultural difference? Describe the situation and explain what happened.
If you have not had a personal experience that involved misunderstanding someone’s gestures (nonverbal communication) because of a cultural difference, then discuss why there are some universal human gestures that we all understand no matter the culture (such as a smile to indicate happiness) and others that can mean different things in different cultures, such as the “thumbs up” sign.
