Developmental Review 1: Adolescence
The Developmental Review assignments allow you to integrate knowledge obtained in your text and course material with real life situations. This time you will be focusing on the adolescent developmental stage. Remember to read through your text, the supplemental chapter PowerPoints, and lecture videos dealing with adolescence. The interview is designed for you to gain a deeper understanding of that developmental stage. You will generate the interview questions based on your own understanding of the course material, what you are curious to learn more about, what you were surprised to learn and want to discuss further, and perhaps given what you already know about the person if you are interviewing someone well known to you. There are example questions included as a support, but you will need to generate a deeper and more thorough set of questions, while also being prepared to add questions during the actual interview. Once you have completed your interview of someone in the ADOLESCENT developmental stage, answer the questions on the Developmental Review Worksheet ( I will upload the sheet) the sheet has 5 parts. Each part needs to be filled in. This criterion is linked to a Learning Outcome Interviewee Description Student provides a detailed, subjective, clear review of the interviewee, which includes items listed on worksheet, and includes their stage of development. Biophysical Student provides a clear and detailed review of section. This includes an integration of what was learned on the interview and course material. Student uses own words to explain material, use of direct quotes is minimal but does support work. Student may include direct quotes from interview to explain points. Student explains what was learned about biophysical development and how this related to the interview. Student reviews practical application of course concepts about biological development. Physiological Student provides a clear and detailed review of section. This includes an integration of what was learned on the interview and course material. Student uses own words to explain material, use of direct quotes is minimal but does support work. Student may include direct quotes from interview to explain points. Student explains what was learned about psychological development, developmental theory and how this related to the interview. Student reviews practical application of course concepts related to psychological development. Social Student provides a clear and detailed review of section. This includes an integration of what was learned on the interview and course material. Student uses own words to explain material, use of direct quotes is minimal but does support work. Student may include direct quotes from interview to explain points. Student explains what was learned about social development and relationships and how this related to the interview. Student reviews practical application of course concepts related to social development. Identity & Cultural Considerations Student provides a clear and detailed review of section. This includes an integration of what was learned on the interview and course material. Student uses own words to explain material, use of direct quotes is minimal but does support work. Student may include direct quotes from interview to explain points. Student explores what was learned within the interview as compared to the course material in relation to identity and culture. Student identifies similarities or differences observed between interview and course content. Your answers should reflect your personal integration of knowledge from course material in connection to what you learned in the interview and should NOT consist only of direct quotes from the text or only relaying what was shared by the interviewee. The interview does not need to be recorded, but it is recommended you do so. This will allow you to reference the interview with accuracy while completing the worksheet. There is no strict minimum or maximum word requirement for each section of the worksheet. However, it is unlikely you will be able to provide a thoughtful and thorough answer in fewer than 200 words. Additionally, it is important to be intentional with your reply and to strive to limit your answers to not more than 400 words.
