My Capstone Goal(s): • To reduce patients falls by 65% in 2016 on Progressive Care Unit. • To reinforce present involvement within the organization and come up with new approaches to enhance patient’s safety. • To increase both family and patient awareness of the commitment that Progressive Care Unit has in ensuring the safety of the patient. • To empower nurses to improve patient safety as a strategy reduces hospital expenses. • To educate the nurses on the significance of patient’s care and safety through a power point presentation. 2. My Capstone Objectives: • To identify the relationship between the present nursing practices and the fall policy of the hospital. • To assess the usefulness of patient education agreement and the utilization of safety checks such as bed alarm over patients’ beds to stop falling. • To transform and train bedside nurses to act as a role model for other staff to the change practice within the hospital. • To develop process upgrading tasks that assist in the enhancement of patient safety in the Progressive Care Unit.
