You have been reading about the concept of innovation, evidence used for innovation, entrepreneurship, and some of the barriers. An innovation may be a different approach to a current process, using a different product for a procedure or treatment, or developing an entrepreneural approach for an existing problem. Be sure to read the articles and assigned text readings for an understanding of the concepts. For this assignment, interview a Nurse Innovator or entrepreneur that has brought an innovation or entrepreneurship to a practice area of your interest. It does not have to be a costly change. It may be a QI project, a new method to deliver health care, a unique educational intervention, or a business. Applying what you have read about Rodgers’ Theory of Diffusion, Chaos, or Quantum theory, investigate how this innovation developed. What approach did they use as the leader or entrepreneur? What were the obstacles? How did they overcome the obstacles? The interview can be by phone or in person and it must be an RN or APRN. Conciseness is important with this discussion.
