Assessment and Influence of Culture
Percy, I believe it is critical for all leaders to be cognizant of high standards and expectations for their organization while keeping an eye on the impact of any campus master plan with these dynamics in mind. To your point the mission and vision must be reflected in the campus master plan and that mission and vision should be one that is shared by all stakeholders. The layout and function of a master plan should reveal who the organization is and their core values without even having to state them. I can also appreciate the importance of being a reflective leader as we measure the expected outcomes to actual outcomes. As Mike Tyson once said Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth. Sometimes even the most well thought out master plan generate feedback that makes the leader feel as though he has taken a right hook from Tyson the effective leader will be able to reflect, adjust, and move forward with high standards and expectations that reflect the core values mission and vision of the organization.
